ASU Forte is a 100% vegetarian product and hence a vegetarian counterpart of glucosamine and chondroitin. Many people benefit from these two supplements. But whoever doesn't, in about half of the cases does benefit from ASU Forte in our experience.
ASU Forte is however more than a vegetarian alternative to glucosamine and chondroitin. It can be taken by non-vegetarians perfectly well to complement these two supplements. The combination of products is very potent. For this reason, we have also included them in the all-in-one product Arthro-5, along with even more ingredients.
The most important ingredient in ASU Forte is ASU, a specially processed extract of avocado and soybean oils (AvoVida). The abbreviation ASU stands for Avocado Soy Unsaponifiables. This ingredient promotes collagen formation, which contributes to cartilage strength.
ASU is enhanced with potent ginger root and cat's claw plant extracts, hence the addition of 'Forte'. These extracts have been shown to have a beneficial effect on many biochemical processes in and around joint cartilage. In practice this means swifter results and increased cartilage protection.

The ingredients in ASU Forte exert their effects each in their own way and at their own pace. The main ASU ingredient must be taken for about 2 months before the first changes can be detected. The effect of the ingredients ginger root extract and cat's claw plant extract will often kick in sooner.
We recommend trying out ASU Forte for at least three months. After that period the supplement can be evaluated to decide whether it would be useful to continue taking it. Most people come to the conclusion that it is worth taking longer and take ASU Forte continuously.
There is no problem with that. ASU Forte can be taken safely for years.
By choosing ASU Forte, you are choosing quality. We can guarantee it in the following way:
Safe product. The supplier of the main ingredient ASU is Bioriginal, a leading American company. The production takes place according to strict GMP and HACCP requirements. This means that the producer follows procedures which ensure food safety and hygiene.
Independently tested. The end product is randomly tested for heavy metals and biological pollutants by the independent laboratory NutriControl. Click on the microscope symbol below for the most recent test results. Read more about the independent laboratory tests here.
Capsule form. ASU Forte comes in capsules instead of tablets. Capsules are absorbed more quickly and have less chance of causing gastric hypersensitivity. Another advantage of capsules is that they are easier to swallow than rough capsules with hard edges. Whoever does not want to or cannot take the capsules, can easily open them and use only the powder.
Specialist since 2000. Glucosamine.com is a specialist in dietary supplements for healthy joints. The company was founded in 2000 by exercise physiologist and human movement scientist Kris Kuiper and has developed several unique supplements since then. Plenty of knowledge and experience is available about the effect and the safety of these supplements.

ASU Forte can be taken safely for a long time. It does not have any serious side effects, in contrast to many painkillers. There is no problem even if it is taken for years.
The ingredient ASU has been the subject of various scientific studies for many years. During that period, no serious side effects have ever been reported. Research into ginger root extract and cat's claw plant extract has likewise not identified any serious side effects. This is in line with the experiences of traditional herbal medicine where these products have been used for a long time.
Some precautions must be taken in certain conditions and if taking certain medicines. You will find more information below.
Blood thinners and anticoagulants
The ingredient ginger root extract in ASU Forte can present interaction with blood-thinning/anticoagulant medicines. The interaction consists in increasing the effect of the medicine. If taking these medicines, we recommend first consulting a doctor about taking ASU Forte.
Immunosuppressive medication
The ingredient cat's claw plant extract has a stimulating effect on the immune system. The use of ASU Forte in combination with immunosuppressive medication is therefore discouraged.
Gallstones
The ingredient ginger root extract, like ginger in food, can promote bile secretion. If there are any gallstones in the gallbladder, ginger root extract can trigger a gallbladder attack. It is therefore best not to take this supplement if there is a history of gallstones. There is no problem once the gallbladder has been removed.
Gastrointestinal hypersensitivity
The mild side effects which occur in some people usually reflect gastrointestinal hypersensitivity. This can in general be prevented by taking glucosamine during or soon after meals.
Pregnancy/breastfeeding
Do not take ASU Forte if you are pregnant, have the intention to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding. The supplement has a very favourable safety profile but no studies have been carried out which can rule out a possible adverse effect on the (unborn) child.
Use at a young age
Use by children and teenagers (up to 18 years of age) is discouraged. As a guiding principle, the body must be 'fully grown' in order to start taking it. 'Fully grown' refers to both bone development and hormonal development. The reason that we make this recommendation is that no research has been carried out to determine whether it is safe for children and teenagers.
